Student Information

  • I offer swim lessons for individuals of all ages, starting from infants as young as 6 months old to adults. My lessons are tailored to the specific needs and abilities of each age group.

  • The best age to start swim lessons can vary depending on individual circumstances and comfort levels, but generally, I recommend beginning swim lessons as early as six months old. At this age, infants can adapt to the water environment and start developing a sense of comfort and buoyancy.

For toddlers and young children, between the ages of 2 and 4, swim lessons can focus on water safety, basic swimming skills, and building confidence in the water. It's a critical time for instilling good habits and water awareness.

However, it's never too late to start learning to swim. I offer lessons for individuals of all ages, including teens and adults. The key is to choose a time that aligns with your or your child's readiness and interest, and I will adapt the lessons accordingly. The most important thing is to foster a lifelong love for swimming and ensure water safety, regardless of the starting age.

  • Before our lesson, we will schedule an initial phone call. This crucial conversation is an opportunity for both you and me to get to know each other, discuss your swimming goals, and assess your or your child’s current skill level. This call is the foundation upon which your swim lessons will be built. It's a chance for me to understand your (or your child’s) unique needs, goals, and preferences, and for you to gauge my approach, experience, and teaching style. You can read more about what to expect from this call here.

Lesson Information

  • Lessons range from 30 to 60 minutes. The length of the lesson will vary based on the age and skill level of the swimmer, as well as individual preferences. I offer flexibility in lesson durations to cater to my students' needs, ensuring a comfortable and effective learning experience.

  • Lessons are tailored to individual needs, so the content may vary, but my core approach emphasizes building water confidence and mastering essential swimming skills. I maintain a safe and supportive environment throughout the lesson, ensuring that every student feels secure and motivated to learn and grow in their swimming journey.

For example, during a typical lesson, I may begin with a warm-up to help students get comfortable in the water, and then progress to skill development, which can include stroke techniques, breath control, water safety, and more, depending on the student's level. I offer constructive feedback, encouragement, and hands-on guidance throughout to improve swimming abilities.

  • Swimmers should wear appropriate swimwear, such as a swimsuit or swim trunks. Goggles are optional but can be helpful, especially for those who are more sensitive to water. Don't forget to bring a towel and any necessary personal items.

  • I am very flexible on location to make lessons convenient for you. I’m happy to come to any home or local pool within my teaching area. There are also a few public pools I can suggest if that would be helpful.
